Port Elizabeth is situated on the western side of Algoa Bay which is on the south east coast of South Africa. The port is approached via an entrance channel 3km in length with a depth of 14,5 m. The berths are protected by a breakwater 1,200m long, depth at the entrance is 12,2 m. The harbour covers a water area of 115 HA.
Limitations
Cape Receife East (True) to a point in the Indian Ocean, distant 1609 metres line drawn from the extreme point to the East Bank of the Zwartkops River, east (True) distant 1609 metres on the eastward by a line drawn between these two points.
